I am painting my garage. Can I safely paint around a electric water heater?

Should be no problem… take care to avoid drips or splatters that might get on the unit… and use Acrylic Paint which gives off non flammable fumes… use plenty of VENTILATION (fans) to aid in drying… for several days!
