Painting furniture in a child's room?

I plan to paint both a night table and a dresser for my son’s room. The paint color will be black as it is a Pittsburgh Penguins hockey theme room. I have both a black matte finish latex and a black oil high gloss paint. Can anyone provide any advice on durability as well as appearance of both options?
Thanks

Oh… gosh…. the oil high gloss will be quite more durable, but will shine, reflect surface imperfections and collect visible dust more…

Oil base will be more durable in the long run, dries harder. But takes longer to cure. A good acrylic paint will dry faster and harden (form a good film) faster; this will allow you to put the furniture back sooner.

This is a tough one. I would go with the oil base; use a lower sheen and add driers to help speed up the dry time a bit.
