Painting Over Oil Based Paint

Dan Marcuz asked 10 years ago

I tested Pratt & Lambert acrylic paint with built in primer, over sanded and washed bedroom walls. The acrylic paint scratched off after drying. Should I just go with oil based paint?

It takes several days before paint is fully adhered to any surface. You tested when it was dry to the touch but not cured. Give the new paint time to cure before moving to repaint.

It takes 30 days days for latex paint to cure and will scratch off any surface if not given the proper time to stick to the new surface.
