I am in the process of refinishing an old maple dresser. It was previously painted. After taking the paint off and sanding the surface, the area under the drawer pulls is still visible from the original pulls because it was not allowed to oxidize. Is there something that I can do before I re-stain the piece to make these areas less visible? I do not have the original pulls so i can’t just cover them up.
