My 7 year old fiberglass door has light areas that have lost the woodgrained look. I tried to stain the door with a gel stain, but the light areas did not take the stain. What can I do?

Staining does not work on fiberglass… you can prime and paint the door…

Stain does work on fiberglass doors as long as it's the right type of stain. This isn't wood so different procedures are needed. Check out this article for more info; Staining a Fiberglass Door

touch up fiberglass stained door

Touching up the stain is possible but difficult, blending issue. You will need the same color and type of stain used and be prepared to experiment with blending one area into another so it doesn't look blotchy.
