Painting Stairs

Sherry Diederich asked 2 years ago

Hi, I am very confused about how to blend trim colors. My downstairs trim is a heritage blue color. Up stairs trim will be graphite color. Can I paint the stair treads, railing and stair skirt graphite? Maybe the risers heritage blue or use riser decals? Is there a “rule of thumb” on how to paint stairs?
Thank you!!

There is NO rule of thumb, it is really up to your imagination… most stairways are painted all one color… steps, risers and stringers all the same color… in your case I would use the graphite color… I have a web page especially for Stairways … check it out here: http://davmagic.com/paint/PAGES52.html

Good Luck…
