I painted a wall and part of the paint looks too thick. The paint does not look smooth and even. Can I sand the wall and try again?

Yes you can sand paint but it is difficult. Latex/acrylic paint has a tenancy to become gummy and clog sandpaper when sanded. Plus it is difficult to feather out the edges. This is especially true for new paint, less than 30 days old.
Try to not stay in one spot too long. The paint gets hot and this causes the paint to soften.
