My wife has decided that she wants painted interior woodwork throughout our house. Currently, it is all stained and I will be scuffing it up and using an oil based primer first then a semi-gloss latex enamel. Painting is the one home improvement skill I have, but how do I prime and paint the baseboards and protect the areas where there is carpet? I have thought that I get a thicker plastic sheeting and use a putty knife to push it under the baseboards between the baseboard and the carpet. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks.
Push wide masking tape under the base. This works quite well and acts as a shield to protect the carpet. Plus it will make your job easier and faster.
