Color for House

Anne asked 10 years ago

My house has brick on the front. It isn’t all brick, just brick on the first story of the front, the rest is shingle. The trim around the windows is bright white which needs to stay that way since it’s a wood-like composite so no need to paint. The stairs are brick as well and the shingles are white. We do have shutters on the windows which are black.

I would like to change the white shingle to another color that would go with the brick. I was thinking a Nantucket Gray. What do you think?

Nantucket gray would be fine, but might be a little drab. A deep hunter green would look nice, and would add a splash of color to the front of your home. If green isn't your thing, navy blue would also go nicely with the white trim and brick.

I think that a Nantucket gray would look very nice. My first reaction before I even read the color you were going to use was a light gray so, as long as you use a light gray I think it would give your house more character. Otherwise, if you are willing to repaint the black shutters I would use creams and tans to paint your house.
